Bookies This club is a combination of Living literature and Bookends!
Living Literature Bringing Literature to Life! Living Literature is a club for 3rd - 5th grade students with a passion for reading and performance. Members will be able to express their creativity by sharing their favorite stories from literature in a variety of storytelling mediums. Students will explore formats ranging from the traditional to the modern such as reader’s theatre, shadow puppetry, silent film, stop-motion animation and more. The club will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-8:45.
Library Bookends "When in doubt go to the library." Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Library Bookends is a club open to 4th and 5th grade students who love libraries and learning. Members will learn everything there is to know about how libraries work from book checkout to circulation systems. Students will grow their own love of reading and self education through book talks while acquiring a deeper understanding of the resources a library has to offer. More importantly, students will learn how to foster that same excitement in others by creating book displays and developing engaging challenges for library STEAM centers.
This mini club met for a month after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in preparation for the Cane’s Arcade Challenge put on by the Knock Knock Museum. Three of our games were selected to be put on display for kids to play at the museum. We are super proud of our kids hard work. It was a fun day. Check out the slide show to see a glimpse of all of the library clubs.
